This sweet variety is also higher in vitamin A—an antioxidant that boosts immunity and helps you maintain healthy skin and vision.
Sweet potatoes provide plenty of natural energy, making them an exceptional fuel source for daily activity and especially athletic performance. Since they are lower on the glycemic index, they may be a better choice for those monitoring blood sugar.
Dates
Dates are high in a number of nutrients and antioxidants and are a great source of fibre —all of which can provide health benefits ranging from improved digestion to a reduced risk of disease. They are also higher on the glycemic index.
A great way to add dates to your diet is to eat them as a natural sweetener in say, a snack bar (wink, wink).
